  2. Letters containing goods and packets:
    • Customs Declaration CN 22 in English or French;
      if the value of the goods exceeds 300 SDRs:
    • Customs declarations CN 23 in English or French


With indication of the market value in the country of consignment; must be inserted in every shipment.

Certificate(s) of origin: 

Nearly all goods imported into the country are controlled goods. Future importers are therefore advised to obtain an import permit before placing their goods. Imported plants and plant materials must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate.


Small shipments may be imported for personal use without an import license, provided that the value of the contents does not exceed 500 rupees. A handling fee is payable for each incoming package, whether dutiable or not, weight dependent and to declare in writing (small packages).

All postal items and packages received with a false Customs declaration will be seized by the customs authorities.
